I"m new tothe forum, and just wanted to get an opinion on what everyone thinks about how the waters have been "muddied" by all the "make a million dollars in 2 weeks hype on the net", so much so when something that is a TRUE opportunity comes along, you automatically hit "delete"? Thanks in advance for any replies
Well if you are referring to email marketing, I would say that is dead. Now it is just called spam and people don't want it. There are other ways to market online, however I would avoid hype in your marketing efforts. The people you truly want to attract to your business are turned off by hype.

Good advice on both points. When I talk to insurance clients, I let them pick the benefits they want, and always address any issues before hand, so they dont get irritated later=Thanks
I think (at least I HOPE) people are wise to that old school talk. I think if there were any such thing where people could jump in and be rich in 2 weeks, we'd all have been independently wealthy LONG ago. I've never known anyone that got rich just jumping in and joining those deals, did you?
Also...when TRUE opportunity comea along, to me it won't come from a junk mail email, it would come from a good friend, or someone i know and respect and have a relationship with already. I don't pay much attention to people that email me out of the blue, that I have never met, and the first email they send is a sales pitch. That would automatically get that delete.
That's my 2 cents anyway. What does eveyrone else think?

Very True MLM= A friend of mine sent me a program that I thought "broke the mold", and I think done correctly, it can be a good $$ maker. It is actually free, and time permitting(since my main biz is insurance) I can come up with a good marketing plan. Thanks for the input= Dean
I've found online marketing just does not have the same effect today as it used to. You might want to mix your plans to do a little offline marketing as well. What type insurance business are you in?

I am in Life and Health, and I sell nationwide. I use webconference tool, which opened the door to a HUGE market. Since u are in MLM pretty heavy, would u like to look at a link that is REALLY FREE, not the !!!!!!! hype crap out there? (And no I am not telling people get in or its not going to be here) I use it to get my office supplies, and get a % back monthly in form of rebate check= I think its pretty cool, and it helps kids that are disadvantaged. In a world of hype, it is nice to see someone gives a crap= Talk to u soon=Dean( I market a lot offline with insurance) I found an idea I tried that has worked well in my market. If u want to know what my approach is, let me know)
Online Marketing Is actually for me Huge! I guess it all depends how you market yourself. Have lots yet to learn, but lots to offer anyone that wants to learn.
There's never been any shortage of people in network marketing who sell the idea that you can get rich without doing anything. And I don't think the internet has increased their number....just made them more visible.
With that said, I think there ARE a lot of people in network marketing who have the idea that you have to work a business for years before you can make a decent income. And a much smaller group of people -- who are not limited by that belief -- are earning multiple six-figure incomes in their first year in the business.
It's all about choice, belief and what rung of success you want to play on.
Million dollars in 2 weeks? Boy, that would be cool! In my first network marketing company in 1995 that is exactely the kind of HYPE that we heard. It was crazy that we even fell for it, but we were young and wanted that lottery ticket that would take care of us and our kids.
That was just the way the old school worked. Now I have seen a great shift in how the industry is coming accross and that alone makes me feel good about what I do now. People that want a quick fix are just not going to make it in this industry. Everything in life takes work and the six-figure income earners have to work hard too.
Now, I might not be making sense, but bare with me as I get used to communicating in a forum like this.

Very True, the hype has changed a little. Of course people are still doing the !!!!!!!!! advertising. In the Insurance Business, I did hit six figures my first year, of course I had to work my butt off! I am looking at a couple of programs now, one is pp2w, and I emailed the guy that contacted me about the compalints on it, of course he said any program with thousands of members will have compliners. I agree to a point, But I am wondering what plan would give me (and a friend of mine from Holland) a solid six figure potential first year, and residiual growth after. Any help on this is appreciated. Dean
