How long have you been with your company?
The best thing I have found to do, is really spend your time looking for a great mentor. This may not be a sponsor, because there a lot of people who can sponsor you into a business and don't know enough to train you properly.
When I jumped in I realized that my sponsor had not seen any success so I took it upon myself to learn as much as I could about the industry and about marketing and even more importantly get the training I needed to be successful.
There is lots of great free information on the web, I think Michael offers his training for free as do I offer free information and resources to help out the new Networker on my website my-network-marketing-guide.com.

Thank you for all that information. Everyone has something good to offer, but the question is, can the common person do it and is the help there? Another thing is, how many people does one have to recruit to make a substantial enough income to enjoy financial freedom. I find very view opportunities that can offer that. The claims are big, but in reality, most fail.
I see that Bill has commented and he is right; the failure rate is over 90% because there is very little mentoring by the upline and even less integrity with many of the companies out there. Just read the policies and procedures and you can tell a lot. Look at the company leadership; that says a lot. Is the company publically traded? Does the company own lots of assets and have large amounts of overhead...all of this takes away from the network marketers pockets. Is the product competitive? Is the product awesome and in demand? Is the compensation plan tilted toward the distributor or do only the "hot dogs" in the company make all the money off the backs of the little guy?
These are the kinds of things we teach at Mentoring for Free. We teach people HOW to think, not WHAT to think. We help folks learn how to evaluate companies and decern whether they are good or a passing fad. We teach people who to ask, How many times has the compensation plan changed?How many people lost checks due to being unaware of all the loopholes in the compensation plan? Do a Google search on company leadership...it the news good?
